Using Self Adhesive Clear Sticker Paper

Video Transcript

In this video, we are going to talk about our clear film, Self Adhesive or Acephate Self Adhesive product that we do.  This is an inkjet product printable with most domestic inkjet printers using water based inks, no special equipment required, it can be done on any software, any method of generating an image.  This is what we are going to do, this is what the paper or the film rather looks like, in its raw form it looks like a white sheet of paper or any other white product that we do.  It has a shining surface, which is where the printable area is, and the mat surface which is just a carrying paper that serves no purpose except to protect the adhesive.  We feed it in a way to print on to the glossy side and we use either transparency or a clear film setting which is present in most printers and drivers.

Let’s print one off, and we will show you what we can do with it.  So, now this is printed, and it is a very fast drying film, so you can handle it very soon after printing, we have printed a whole load of PPD logo, that’s some sort of corporate identity going on here, and I am going to stick them on to two different surfaces, just to give you a rough idea of the applications whether this is essentially a sticker, it will go on to any non porous surface, or plastics, metals, glass, anything which is not absolvent, that’s when it works best, it will stick to pretty much anything, but for best results it has to be a non porous surface.

And we can also use it as a, there is a sticker that I put on my pc sometime in the past but we can, I can use it to personalize my computer.  I can put my name on it I can put a company name on it.  As you can see with a silver background this gives you a very good result, and the applications are very, very wide as long as the surface is reasonably light, white, or silver, this clear sticker self adhesive using an inkjet printer with ordinary inks, will work very well.  And if you want it totally durable and waterproof use the fixative spray and it will last then for years.

what is the difference between the acetate clear sticker paper and the vinyl clear sticker paper? Will they work differently in different situations?

    • Aron says:

      Hi Tracy,

The two are the same, some refer to the product as acetate others as vinyl so we cater for both. They are both self adhesive printable sheets with a clear finish. I hope this helps. Thank you for your comment. Aron

  2. David says:

Is it waterproof? Can it be waterproofed, and do you know of any printable films which are heat sealed /activated which bonds to fabric but without pressure, just a hairdryer for instance?

    • Joseph Eitan says:

Hi David, You can apply fixative spray to improve the waterproofness of the paper (as well as UV stability). We haven’t any other films, but Inkjet self adhesives. Thank you.

Hi I have just purchase PPD clear film self adhesive could you please give me some advise. Before I have purchase the Letraset Safemat Self -Adhesive printing film and was wondering if this is more or less the some sort of product.
I used this to print on candles can you use heat with this item (Craft heating tool )

    Thank you

    • Joseph Eitan says:

Hi, I have never used Safemat so cannot really compare. You can use this on candles but the film will burn if it catches fire – it is an acetate and will not just melt away with the heat. It cannot be used with a heat gun

Hi, I have recently bought clear film self adhesive (SKU 39) from yourselves so that i can print inserts to wedding invitations. However when i place the paper in the printer and press print it just feeds quickly through the printer and doesn’t print. I have an Epson Stylus SX215 printer.
    Please can you help
    Kind regards
    Vicky

    • Joseph Eitan says:

Hi Vicky, The printer should be set to Normal Paper and Normal Resolution when using this product. What setting were you using when you had trouble feeding the clear self adhesive? If you were using a transparency film setting and it did not work, switch to Normal Paper and this should correct the issue.

I would like to stick this to a Lantern . Using 4 colour photos and putting them on the lantern . Inside the lantern I would like to burn a tea light or candle . Will this be ok or will it melt or go on fire . The picture will be outside the glass lantern . Thanks in Advance

    • Joseph Eitan says:

Hi Bernice, This product should not be used next to fire – it is a polyester which will either burn or melt if heat is applied.
